With great pleasure, the University of Ghana School of Public Health announced that submissions for the DASH Masters and PhD Scholarships in Adolescent Health for the 2024–2025 academic year are now being accepted. Target discernments would be those extremely energetic about fundamentally enhancing the well-being of teenagers and youthful grown-ups in sub-Saharan Africa.
The work was supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research through a multi-country endeavor -the Research Network for the Formulation and Evaluation of Adolescent Health Interventions and Policies in Sub-Saharan Africa (DASH) project. Through focused reviews in three key areas, namely: 1) nutrition and physical activity; 2) mental health and violence; and, 3) sexual reproductive health this special series aims to further help shape the implementation of adolescent lifestyles that will enhance adolescent health. This project has schools from Ghana, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria South Africa, and Tanzania besides partners in Germany. These are the different sanitation systems that receive water access for sustaining life food and livelihood.
Benefits of the DASH Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this DASH scholarship, applicants need to fulfill the following necessities:
- Prepared to devote all of their time to their studies.
- Show that you are competent in doing independent statistical data analysis.

- Fulfill the requirements for admission to the University of Ghana for graduate studies.
- Possess the capacity to do fieldwork under difficult conditions.
- Prior publishing experience is an extra benefit for candidates for a PhD.
- Considerably younger than 40 years old.
- "Female candidates in particular are encouraged to apply."
Who Can Apply?
Master’s Applicants:
- Possess a strong first degree in a related regulation.
- Possess a minimum of two years' worth of job experience in a medically applicable profession.
- Having obtained a master’s degree in fields of study relevant to health, including but not limited to global health, applied epidemiology, and public health.
- A minimum of two years of postmaster's academic or job experience, ideally in a medical field.
Application Process
Step 1: University of Ghana Postgraduate Application
- For the Population held Family, and Reproductive Health Master's or PhD Public Health programme at the University of Ghana, apply online at https://admission.ug.edu.gh/applying/postgraduate/overview.
- Attend competitive entrance tests, in addition to these there are crucial data analysis and analytical essay writing aspects covered as well.
Step 2: DASH Scholarship Application
- Complete the DASH Scholarship Application form online at this link (https://apply.ug.edu.gh/apps/chsdash/#/).
- Upload the following documents in PDF format:
- A one-page cover letter.
- A thorough curriculum vitae (CV) emphasizes research experience and statistical analysis skills.
- A one-page master's application or two-page personal statement for PhD candidates outlining your qualifications for the fellowship.
- A minimum of one being referred letter.
- Proof of being admitted to a University of Ghana postgraduate program that is pertinent.
Step 3: Interview for Shortlisted Applicants
- Interview invitations will be sent to the shortlisted candidates.
- Notification of the applicants who were selected will be sent by August 15, 2024.

The University of Ghana will send an award letter to the successful applicants and they will have seven days to confirm their acceptance. Should you not reply within this time range, somebody else will receive the scholarship offer.
