01 – Application Qualification Requirements

Educational Background and Age Limit:
Bachelor's Degree: Participants seeking a bachelor's degree must be under 25 years old and have completed high school or its equivalent. However, both of the parents of the applicant have to have bachelor's degrees.
Master's Degree: Master's degree applicants must have an undergraduate degree taught in China with qualifications equivalent to a bachelor's degree holder and be under 35 years of age. Applicant's parents must have a master's degree.
Doctoral degree: To become a doctoral degree student, one must have a master's degree as in China, and must be at least 40 years old. The prospective applicant's parents must, however, be doctorate holders.
Language Requirements:
Seminars taught in Chinese: at least 180 points at HSK Level 4.English-taught programs require an IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 90.
Scholarship Eligibility: Recipients cannot hold any other Chinese government scholarship at the same time.
02 – Scholarship Sponsorship

03 – Application Process
Chinese Government Scholarship Online Application:
Visit the Chinese Government's Scholarship Management Information System.
Select "Category B" and enter Jinan University's agency code, 10559.
Fill out and submit the necessary application documents and information.
Jinan University Online Application:
For Undergraduate Applicants: For Undergraduate Applicants: After registering, aspirants must visit the Jinan University and Huaqiao University Joint Admission System to finish the application and upload any additional materials that are required.
For Graduate Applicants: Access Jinan University's Graduate Admissions System. Fill out the Silk Road Scholarship application form and upload all required documents from step 1, after clicking on all procedures.
Eligibility Review and Telephone Interview: Depending on the submitted documents reviewed by the University. The school will conduct a phone or remote interview of the candidate. Therefore, applicants should provide correct contact information.
Nomination for Scholarship Dual Review: Nomination for Scholarship Dual Review: The application package of the applicants selected will be submitted to the China Scholarship Council's system and they will be nominated for the "Silk Road" Scholarship. CSC will then forward it to Jinan University for final approval of the scholarship.
Scholarship Results: Scholarship Results: The CSC page will host the scholarship results. While both selected and non-selected students will be notified of the scholarship results by Jinan University.
